The Mobile Cargo / Truck X-Ray System is a self-contained mobile x-ray system designed to scan cars, vans, buses, trucks and sea containers. It obtains images in a single pass as it is driven past the scanned target. It consists of a truck containing the imaging equipment mounted with a boom, which contains the detectors and electronics. The truck has the driver, operator or image-analyst and an optional traffic coordinator.

The mobile system can be used at strategic and randomly placed control points situated on the road network as part of a national security program or at seaports and border crossings. Using this system, a trained customs or security services operator can examine selected stationary targets to detect illegal immigrants, explosives, drugs, fraudulently manifested goods or any other forms of contraband.
