The requirements for effective Security screening system and interdiction in highly diverse port environments have led to technological advances in several areas, Radiation Detection Portal is one and unique among it. Radiation Detection Portal is a detection system that provides Customs with a passive, non-intrusive means to screen trucks and other conveyances for the presence of nuclear and radiological materials.
These systems are capable of detecting various types of radiation emanating from nuclear devices, dirty bombs, special nuclear materials, natural sources, and isotopes commonly used in medicine and industry. It is intended to establish a complete System for inspecting Vehicles / Trucks Radioactive materials with fixed systems work as the front gates in the Boarders Check-point and as per Guidelines of the American National Standard Institute (ANSI-N42-38-2006 and N42-35-2006, American National Standards Institute).

As the nation's primary security infrastructure must do everything in its power to prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons, including weapons of mass destruction, from entering this country.

The main aspire of RDP is preventing the unauthorized transit of illicit nuclear and other radioactive materials by equipping checkpoints such as road crossings, airports and seaports with monitoring equipment, to include fixed, automated radiation portal monitors to detect, identify and facilitate assessment of the threat level associated with gamma and neutron radiation, in order to alert front line officers about the presence of such materials, and to inform decision-making at the local, regional and national level by providing appropriate information regarding the threat.
